About Us

The Funeral Procession, a progressive melodic death metal band from Texas, was formed in 2008 by Nakoa Arnold and Mike Sanchez. Their initial lineup was later strengthened by the addition of Mike Miller, the talented drummer from A Dozen Furies. As their music evolved, Bryan Cox joined the band as the bassist, solidifying their sound. However, changes were inevitable, and Mike Sanchez eventually left, making way for Jarrod Butler of Prophecy to take over.

The Funeral Procession played numerous shows and quickly made a name for themselves in the local metal scene. Their intense live performances and distinctive sound won them a dedicated following. Despite their growing success, the band went on hiatus in 2010, leaving fans wondering if they would ever return.

Fast forward to 2023, Nakoa and Bryan decided it was time to resurrect The Funeral Procession. Fueled by a renewed passion for their music, they began working on their first album. Jarrod Butler rejoined the band, bringing his expertise and energy back into the mix. Mike Sanchez contributed his skills on the keys, helping to craft the band’s new sound. They were also joined by two new members: Zodion Comstock on bass, allowing Bryan to focus solely on his role as the full-time vocalist, and Jerrin Castillo on drums, replacing Mike Miller.

With this revitalized lineup, The Funeral Procession has returned to the stage, performing live shows and reconnecting with their audience. Their new album and dynamic performances are a testament to their enduring talent and commitment to their craft. Once again, they are making waves in the metal world, proving that their time away has only made them stronger.
